Forget About All The Human Fathers You've Ever Known

Without realizing it, we often associate God with the failures of our human fathers, but it's a mistake.

Because God is the Perfect Father.

But what does that mean?

If you try to imagine a perfect father, what would he be like?

Would a Perfect Father want to talk with you? Would He care about the details of your life? Would the Perfect Father want to be involved? Would He be there whenever you need Him? At the same time, would a Perfect Father give you rules for your own good to protect you?

Of course, the answers to all of those questions is a resounding "Yes!" And so, that is how God is with us.

Painfully, some men and women were abandoned or rejected by their human fathers as children. When that happens, we tend to think God will also not be there for us.

Others have tragically been abused growing up, which can lead to a fear of God, that He is looking to use or abuse us. Others may have had dads who ignored them or didn't care about them, which results in those children believing God is the same way.

We tend to paste onto the image of God whatever failures our human fathers had, but God is not like that.

He is the Perfect Father, and whatever a Perfect Father would do, He does.

If you have asked Jesus to be your Lord & Savior, you are an adopted child of God.

"And I will be a Father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," says the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:18)

The Bible says that as adopted children, we can call him “Abba Father” which means “Daddy". When you understand that you are God’s child, and that he is your Perfect Father, then you will begin to understand the huge amount of love he has for you, and that your life is truly valuable!
